Nurturing and Responsive Care

At The Cooper Learning Center, our Infant Program provides a warm, responsive environment where babies feel safe, loved, and supported as they begin to explore the world around them. Every day is filled with moments of discovery—gentle play, conversation, and connection that help each child build trust, curiosity, and confidence.

Our Approach

We follow The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Twos, a research-based framework that emphasizes responsive caregiving and learning through everyday routines.
Our teachers tune in to each child’s cues—when they’re hungry, tired, or ready to explore—and create experiences that nurture early development across all domains.

Care Practices Families Trust

Your baby’s health, safety, and comfort are our top priorities.

  • Feeding: We support breastmilk, formula, and early solids; all bottles are labeled, stored, and prepared safely.
  • Safe Sleep: Infants always sleep on their backs in individual cribs. Staff are trained in safe sleep practices and continuously monitor the room.
  • Diapering: Teachers follow EEC sanitation guidelines: changing gloves, handwashing, and disinfecting between each change.
  • Health: Daily wellness checks ensure children are comfortable and ready to learn.

What this looks like in our classroom:

  • Warm, consistent caregivers who respond to your child’s needs
  • Songs, stories, and conversations that build early language
  • Tummy time and sensory play that strengthen fine and gross motor skills
  • One-on-one moments that foster emotional security and attachment

Early Learning & Milestones

Even the smallest moments build the foundation for lifelong learning. Our infant teachers intentionally plan activities that promote:

  • Social-Emotional Growth: Developing trust through consistent care and responsive interactions
  • Language Development: Talking, singing, and reading aloud throughout the day
  • Cognitive Skills: Exploring objects, sounds, and textures that spark curiosity
  • Physical Development: Strengthening muscles through crawling, grasping, and reaching
